The Solstice Foundation

The Solstice Foundation is a nonprofit  organization (see our 503(c) Tax Letter and our Certificate of Solicitation)  with the mission to mobilize the caring power of the Solstice Restaurant Community to support worthy charitable organizations and individuals The Solstice Foundation Logowhile upholding the core values that have helped Solstice Restaurant thrive: Family, Community, Health & Education.

The Solstice Foundation was founded in 2013, after nearly ten years of hosting the Summer Solstice Celebration at our family-owned restaurant and raising funds for a variety of worthy local charities. In these ten years, we have been in awe of the loyalty and generosity of our guests. The Solstice Foundation allows Solstice Restaurant to continue to give back to our neighbors, for many years to come.

Putting your donations to work in the community

Proceeds from the Annual Summer Solstice Party go to The Solstice Foundation and are designated to worthy charitable organizations in the community.   In 2014, thanks to the incredible generosity of guests, The Solstice Foundation donated $10,000 to South Shore Hospital’s Youth Health Connection to support critical substance abuse and suicide prevention programing in Kingston and Duxbury communities. The grant supports two specific initiatives: Lead Sponsorship of the 5th Annual South Shore FACTS (Families, Adolescents, and Communities Together against Substances) Conference in September 2015, and seed funding to hire a substance abuse and suicide prevention specialist to work directly with officials and individuals in both Kingston and Duxbury to build sustainable community coalitions.
